August 20th, 2009 Loveland Test Fires the Snow
Guns !
It may still be the middle of summer, but up here at Loveland Ski Area we have snow on our minds. This afternoon we test fired one of our new snow guns in anticipation for the temperatures to start dropping. Other guns are being put in position and the entire system is going through a series of tests so we are ready as soon as Mother Nature is. In addition to testing the snow guns, we are gearing up for our fall ski shows and pass sales events. Et oui, il arrive l'hiver! À la fin du mois dernier (le 20 août pour être préçis) la station Loveland au Colorado a fait ses premiers tests de neige avec son nouveau matériel de guerre. Il prévoit attaquer la montagne dans 21 jours. D'ailleurs vous pouvez suivre le décompte en direct sur leur site web . Vous vous demandez comment ils font, et bien c'est très simple : la base de la montagne est à 3 230m d'altitude juste au dessus du Eisenhower Tunnel sur l'interstate 70
